The Miami Marlins placed right-hander John McMillon on the 15-day injured list on Thursday because of right elbow tightness, one day after he got hurt on his second pitch of a relief outing. In other moves, the Marlins activated right-hander Michael Petersen, selected the contract of righty Jeff Lindgren from Triple-A Jacksonville and designated lefty Jonathan Bermudez for assignment. McMillon, 26, pitched briefly on Wednesday, yielding a single to Pittsburgh's Nick Gonzales to lead off the third inning. McMillon exited without facing another batter in the Pirates' 3-1 victory.
